The Vision Behind DMT Astronaut Clothing by Jae

This photo captures the moment that sparked DMT Astronaut Clothing.

I’m laid back on a bright pink inflatable couch at a doof, wrapped in a ridiculous neon-pink fluffy jacket, pixelated shades on, drink in hand — vibing in full colour. Out there, outfits like this don’t just fit in… they thrive. Doofs are full of creativity, expression and personality.

But as soon as I returned to normal daily life on the Gold Coast — beach days, skating sessions, hanging with mates — everything changed.
Suddenly everyone was wearing the same plain shirts with the same tiny DTF prints. A tiny design floating in a whole ocean of wasted fabric.

I missed that doof energy.
I missed clothing that felt alive.
I missed colour and culture in everyday life — whether you’re surfing before work, skating Burleigh hill, or just cruising the coast.

That’s where DMT Astronaut Clothing came from.

I wanted to bring festival-level creativity into everyday Gold Coast living…
clothing that worked at the beach, on the street, at a doof, on a board, or around a campfire.

I wanted designs that use the full real estate of the shirt — no more tiny square prints. And I wanted to fill that space with the things I love:

  • Mysterious ancient cultures and symbols

  • Graffiti and street-art attitude

  • Vibrant colour and psychedelic energy

  • Retro rebellious vibes

  • Outdoor lifestyle toughness and comfort

But style wasn’t enough.
It had to be quality — durable for skating, breathable for beach days, bold for nights out, and comfortable for long doof weekends.

DMT Astronaut Clothing is my answer.
A fusion of surf, skate, festival, art and outdoor lifestyle — all wrapped in colour and creativity you can wear every day.

Not just for doofs.
Not just for beaches.
Not just for streets.

For people who live boldly. For Everybody.
